Varun Dhawan Advised By Producer To Avoid Trouble On KWK After Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh Controversy

Varun revealed that some producers he works with are quite worried about what he might say on Koffee With Karan, fearing it could cause problems.

In the latest episode of Koffee With Karan’s eighth season, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, who starred in ‘Student Of The Year’ (2012), joined host Karan Johar for a chat. Apart from discussing their personal lives—Varun’s married life with Natasha Dalal and Sidharth’s wife is Kiara Advani—the conversation took a serious turn when Karan asked if they were being cautious on the show.

Varun revealed that some producers he works with are quite worried about what he might say on Koffee With Karan, fearing it could cause problems. He shared, “I have producers working with me, who are scared.” When Karan asked if the show often gets people into trouble, both Varun and Sidharth agreed, saying, “Yes, it does”, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Sidharth chimed in with a revealing incident from a party, hinting at a lengthy conversation that was essentially a warning, especially directed at Varun. He explained, “We were at a party where there was a 15-minute-long conversation, lecture, more to him (pointing at Varun). They said ‘Just be careful’.” Though they didn’t name who gave the advice, Varun added, “People are worried.”

Their cautionary remarks came after the recent buzz around Koffee With Karan’s season premiere featuring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The couple’s openness about their relationship, including sharing their wedding video, caught a lot of attention. However, Deepika’s comments about casual dating faced criticism on social media. In response, celebrities like Vir Das, Karan Johar, and Twinkle Khanna came forward to support her.

Varun and Sidharth’s careful attitude about speaking on Koffee With Karan seems to echo the industry’s concerns. It sheds light on how the show’s discussions can impact perceptions and the need for caution while expressing opinions.
