Saif Ali Khan Addressed Vikram Vedha Failure, ‘No Clue What Works And Doesn’t Work’

Saif Ali Khan had been in the headlines for a long time now. Earlier he made news for his latest release Vikram Vedha. Then he was badly criticized and backlashed for his look in the upcoming movie Adipurush. After the trailer of the Ramayan flick was released people trolled Saif for his look as Raavan in Om Raut’s directorial. Now after some peace on the internet, Saif Ali Khan has opened up on the failure of Vikram Vedha in theaters. 

Vikram Vedha is a remake of the popular Tamil film of the same name. The Hindi version featured Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan replacing R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi from the original. The remake film underperformed than the expected response at the box office. The movie was touted to do quite well and save Bollywood from sinking.

In a recent interview with CNBC-TV18, Saif Ali Khan spoke of Vikram Vedha’s failure and the Bollywood film’s poor response at the box office. “The reason we should be very polite to each other is because nobody has any clue of what works and doesn’t work. I have no idea but something is happening. People will continue to make movies. Prices will keep fluctuating because our pricing, some of it, is insane. We pay people astronomically and the returns have been not good.” He also mentioned that people have to also earn that much amount of money that they can afford to invest in watching these films.

Vikram Vedha was made at a big budget of Rs 175 crores and managed to earn Rs 135 crores at the global box office collection. Vikram Vedha was anticipated to receive a great response owing to the casting of Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Radhika Apte. The film also included marketing elements like action and item numbers, yet it failed to meet expectations. 

On the work front, Saif Ali Khan will next essay the role Lankesh aka Ravan in his next movie Adipurush. It is a magnum opus film helmed by Om Raut and produced by T-Series Films and Retrophiles. The film also stars Kriti Sanon and Prabhas in the lead role. Adipurush is scheduled to release in June 2023.
