President Donald Trump Bashed CBS News Reporter

Instead of answering her entirely valid question about the US economy's disastrous state, President Donald Trump bashed CBS News reporter Paula Reid for even asking.

President Donald Trump lashed out again at CBS News reporter Paula Reid for raising questions about his handling of the COVID-19 crisis. During a cabinet meeting in which reporters from the White House attended on May 19, Reid asked, “Mr. President, why haven’t you announced a plan to get 36 million Americans back to work? You’re overseeing historic economic despair. What’s the delay, where’s the plan?”

Trump looked angry and frustrated as he shot back, “Oh, I think we’ve announced our plan. We’re opening up the country — just a rude person, you are. We’re opening up our country. We’re opening it up very fast. The plan is that each state is opening up, and it’s opening up very effectively, and when you see the numbers even you, I think, will be impressed, And it is pretty hard to impress you.”

Reid pushed on, considering that Trump had not actually answered any of her questions. “That’s enough of you,”  the president said angrily, pointing a finger at Reid before letting another reporter ask for a question.

Reid’s questions were valid; in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, company closures, and loss of customers, in the past two months, 36 million Americans have applied for unemployment, bringing the unemployment rate approximately 15%.

To put it in perspective, during the Great Depression of 1929 to 1933, 15 million Americans (around 25 percent) were counted as unemployed, considered the most disastrous era in the economy of the United States.
