Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler have called it quits after nine years together, as a source confirmed the news to a leading daily. The source revealed, “Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup,”
This news comes as a shock to fans as a few months ago the couple were publicly confessing their love for each other.
Back in July Austin told a leading daily, “It’s hard for me to even put into words what that girl means to me. I am so inspired by her every day and I just love her to my core.”
A month later, Hudgens posted a heartfelt message to Butler on Instagram in celebration of his birthday.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my love, my other half, my constant Inspiration and supporter! My best friend. My everything Austin Butler is going to be 28!”
The longtime couple, who began dating in September 2011, raised eyebrows about the status of their relationship when fans noticed that the ‘couple’ spent the holidays apart. Vanessa was seen vacationing in Switzerland and shared a series of photos on Instagram in which Austin was nowhere to be seen.
Amidst the shocking news of the breakup, Vanessa has been quite active on social media. She recently shared a cryptic quote by Coco Chanel to her Instagram Story that read, “You live but once, you might as well be amusing.” After that the songstress shared a video of herself laughing while using an Instagram filter. Austin, on the other hand, has been silent on social media. None of the two have addressed the breakup or announced anything as yet.
