We all woke up to Sonu Nigam's on Monday morning when the singer called morning azaan blaring over loudspeakers religious as ‘gundagardi'. In no time, the nation was ready to slam Sonu for his tweet. He expressed his outrage in a series of tweets which read as, "God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.... And by the way, Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison? I don't believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity To wake up people who don't follow the religion. Why then..? Honest? True? Gundagardi hai bus." All that the singer wanted to do is place his opinion on the use of loudspeakers.

But the flame rose high when the Vice President of the West Bengal Minority United Council Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi issued a fatwa against the singer over his statement for azaan and forced religiousness. "If anyone can shave his hair, put a garland of old torn shoes around his neck and tour him around the country I personally announce an award of Rs 10 lakh for that person," said the Maulavi.

In response to this, Sonu on 18th of April tweeted saying, "Today at 2 pm Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulavi." It came to shock when the singer actually kept his words and shaved his head turning bald. Take a look:
