1. Not an Indian citizen!
Yes, you read that! The actress was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on January 5, 1986, and later moved to Bengaluru with her family when she was 11 months old. The actress holds a Danish passport and since India does not allow dual citizenship; the actress is not considered an Indian citizen and either can she vote! Oopss...



2. The Guru Dutt Connect!
Well, the actress is related to the legendary Guru Dutt; whose real name was Vasanth Padukone. OMG! But well now we understand where the beauty finds her impeccable acting chops from.



3. She plays baseball too!
Well, being born to legendary badminton player; Prakash Padukone, it is a known fact to all that Deepika too has been a national lever badminton player. But what most people do not know is that the ‘Om Shaanti Om' actress is a state level baseball player too! Kudos to her athletic streak!


4. Food-o-holic and Chocoholic!
The actress is a self confessed foodie. Yes, that lean athletic body loves to indulge in chocolates. The actress has gone on record to say that other than living away from her family the second biggest sacrifice that she has made is being careful about her food habits.

The newlywed Deepika, was the original choice for Yash Chopra's last directorial venture Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Infact the actress was even approached for Dhoom 3; both of which she rejected despite being very fond of the late director. The films eventually went to her competitor Katrina Kaif.


8. Do we smell trouble?!
She might be one of those very few actresses to have rejected not one but THREE film opposite Salman Khan. The actress has allegedly turned down Sultan, Shuddhi and an item number in ‘Kick'. Ahem ahem....was there something fishy?
