Stree Review

Hollywood has mastered the art of making Horror-Comedy movies, but Bollywood still has to go a long way.

But the trailer of the upcoming film Stree starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurrana just proved that Bollywood can explore in the Horror-Comedy genre like the others.

So coming straight to the trailer, it starts with explaining the concept of a Stree- witch/ghost/entity who is haunting the town.

The girl (Shraddha) visits the town once in a year and Rajkummar eventually develops a romantic bond with her.

Only to realize that she is actually a ghost and there's something mysterious about her. She woos the men and they vanish into thin air.

Well, what follows later forms the base of the story.

A look at the trailer and we are super-impressed by it. The first half tickle your funny bones and the second half makes you glued to your seats to see what happens next.

Not only this, the humorous dialogues by Rajkummar and Pankaj will leave you in splits. Rajkummar Rao earlier said while talking to a leading daily, "I took a couple of weeks off from other projects to prep for Stree. We finished the shoot in one go. The horror-comedy genre while unexplored in our country has a huge audience."

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree releases on August 31, this year.

The Verdict

A must-watch for all the movie buffs, Stree is definitely what Bollywood needs right now.

As the trailer has hyped the excitement of the audience, it will be interesting to see if the makers will be successful in delivering a cinema which will entertain the audience.
