Former cricketer and now popular reality show contestant Sreesanth; was produced before the Supreme Court yesterday with regards to the hearing for his case against the life ban imposed on him by the Delhi High Court.

For those living under the rock; during the 2013 IPL( Indian Premier League) Season, the cricketer was slapped with a life ban after his after his alleged involvement in spot-fixing. However; a single-judge bench of the Kerala High Court in 2015, had acquitted the former cricketer of all charges and had lifted the life ban conferred upon Sreesanth by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). But, a division bench of the High Court restored the ban, which Sreesanth challenged by moving to the Supreme Court.

And now; in a hearing yesterday; the former Bigg Boss 12 contestants said that the ban on him was "completely unfair" and he also went on to claim that he was "continuously tortured" by the Delhi police when in custody, to confess to the accusations leveled against him.

Senior advocate; Salman Khurshid, who appears in defense of the banned cricketer said before the bench of judges," In the context of facts and manner in which these things have happened, this court should consider that it (life ban on Sreesanth by BCCI) is unfair. He has suffered for last five-six years. People want him to play cricket. He was extremely loyal to BCCI."

Further speaking about the confession made by Sreesanth to the Delhi police; Khurshid revealed," The confession was due to continuous torture by Delhi Police. According to Sreesanth, police had threatened to implicate his family if he does not confess to the crime."

He also argued," The team (Rajasthan Royals) and its owners were banned for two years only. It is completely unfair that this (life ban) has happened with him (Sreesanth)."

Well, only time will tell if the ban is lifted from the cricketer and if we ever will be able to see the aggressive player back on the pitch. But all our wishes with the former player and may truth alone triumph!
