One of the most skilled and professional All rounder ( senior) of the Indian cricket team announced his decision to retire from all forms of cricket on Monday, 10 June 2012.


He battled with cancer for 4 years before he made a comeback to the team. 


Lack of runs and fitness concerns landed him on being shown the doors by the Indian cricket teams. However Yuvraj kept playing in IPLs. He has been the part of two IPL winning sides, Sunrises Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.


The left handed batsman retired after playing 402 international matches in all formats with an aggregate score of 11,778 runs, 148 wickets, 34 Man of the Match awards, 8 Man of the Series Awards which alsop included Man of the Series trophies in WT20 2007 and World Cup 2011

"I have been playing international cricket on and off for 17 years. Now, it is time to say goodbye, to move on and walk away. It has been a roller coaster ride and a great story but it has to come to an end," said an emotional Yuvraj in a press conference on Monday. "This is the best time to move on," he added.
