Delhi Capitals: Renamed and Rejuvenated

Delhi Capitals team is a bundle of energy. They are not seen as the tournament favourites but if their young players like Shaw, Iyer, Pant and Sandeep click together, they can beat any team. Last year their bowling let them down. If they up their game this year, Delhi Capitals may surprise everyone.

Delhi Daredevils have been renamed as Delhi Capitals. They have the most exciting squad in the tournament with India's most talented young batsmen like captain Shreyas Iyer, wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant and opener Prithvi Shaw. The addition of in-form Shikhar Dhawan will add some international experience in the middle of youthful energy. Colin Ingram has been in excellent form in the PSL where he also hit a hundred. The South African left-hand batsman also played in the BBL and is an established white-ball player.

DC Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (c), Colin Ingram, Rishabh Pant (wk), Rahul Tewatia, Axar Patel, Chris Morris, Trent Boult, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma

Watch Out for: Colin Munro is a white-ball specialist and is one of the top batsmen in T20I rankings. South African speedster Kagiso Rabada, the world's best fast bowler, will join the squad soon. Indian spin duo of Amit Mishra and Shahbaz Nadeem can come in for Sandeep or Rahul if they fail to make an impact.

Strengths: Delhi Capitals boast of a deep batting line-up, with Chris Morris coming in at 8. Last year, they chased down quite a few big scores easily. They year, they also have six genuine bowling options including Tewatia. There are no form or fitness concerns in their team. Addition of Kagiso Rabada will strengthen their bowling.

Weaknesses: None of their top five can bowl. Also, Shaw, Iyer, and Pant are talented but lack the consistency as previous IPL seasons have shown. In 2017, their bowling was second only to SRH, but last year the absence of Cummins and Rabada hurt them as they repeatedly conceded above par totals. Much will depend on Rabada and Boult who are finest bowlers in the world but have proven to be expensive so far in their IPL stints. Tewatia as the sixth bowler can be found out if Sandeep, Axar or Ishant have a bad day.

X-Factor: Rishabh Pant has emerged as India's first choice keeper in Tests but hasn't find the same consistency in white-ball cricket that brought him to attention. Pant will look to be consistent without the expense of his aggression to solidify his spot in the World Cup squad.

Uncapped Gem: Rahul Tewatia has established himself as a pinch-hitter who is also a decent legbreak bowler. He can surprise anyone with both bat and ball as he showed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

DC Full Squad: Shreyas Iyer(c), Shikhar Dhawan, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro, Ankush Bains, Colin Ingram, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Manjot Kalra, Chris Morris, Keemo Paul, Sherfane Rutherford, Jalaj Saxena, Amit Mishra, Rahul Tewatia, Sandeep Lamichhane, Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan, Ishant Sharma, Nathu Singh, Bandaru Ayyappa
