Chelsea fans in a video were recently seen racially abusing Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Chelsea has condemned them in the strongest possible terms by calling them 'unadulterated bigotry.' Before Chelsea's Europa League match against Slavia Prague, a group of six men in a bar were seen singing that Salah, who is a devout Muslim, was 'a bomber'. So Chelsea's security team studied the footage and three men weren't allowed entry to the Eden Stadium. The club is super furious about the incident and has vowed to issues bans to those identified.

They issued a statement describing the men's behaviour as 'abhorrent' and even called the men who were singing 'an embarrassment'. Liverpool Vs Chelsea takes place at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool in a statement issued by them stated, "The video circulating online, showing vile discriminatory chants being aimed at one of our players. This behaviour needs to be called out for what it is - unadulterated bigotry. Liverpool Football Club believes it is the responsibility of those in positions of authority, following the proper process, to act urgently to identify and then punish anyone committing a hate crime."

The statement also revealed how Liverpool and Chelsea are working together collectively to identify the people involved as there is no place for this behaviour in football or for that matter in society. The statement further stated, "A crime of this nature has more victims than any individual it is aimed at and, as such, collective and decisive action is needed to address it. The club is working with Merseyside Police and Chelsea on the matter. We thank (Chelsea) for their condemnation and a commitment to act urgently to identify any individuals responsible."

There has been a trend where many football stars were seen enduring racist and Islamophobic abuse during the match. Recently Raheem Sterling, Danny Rose and Callum Hudson-Odoi were seen subjected to monkey noises for the Montenegro crowd in England's Euro 2020 qualifying match. Troy Deeney also showed a vile message he received on social media following Watford's FA Cup semi-final victory over Wolves.
