Voters across the country are all to set to exercise their voting rights in 543 constituencies. However, there are a few seats where the election battle is going to be very interesting. So, here's a list of 7 crucial seats you should be looking in for upcoming elections.


Amethi: Smriti Irani Vs Rahul Gandhi

Amethi has been home turf for Congress since 1967 and BJP has not won the Amethi seat since 1998. However, this time Bhartiya Janata Party's Smriti Sinha stands a strong chance of winning Amethi seat. 

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi's decision to contest from Wayanand can also help BJP. If Smriti Irani manages to defeat Rahul Gandhi, it will be a huge jolt to Congress party.


Bhopal: Sadhvi Pragya Singh vs Digvijaya Singh

BJP has decided to field Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal, she is the main accuse in 2008 Malegaon blasts. Sadhvi will contest elections against Congress leader Digvijaya Singh. BJP is facing severe backlash viewing Sadhvi's image, however, she is out on bail.

 Both Digvijay Singh and Sadhvi Pragya are known for making controversial statements. When both the candidates will start campaigning, it will be really interesting to see how far they go.

Lucknow: Rajnath Singh vs Poonam Sinha 

BJP candidate and Home minister Rajnath Singh seemed all set for his walkover until the grand allaince of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal announced Poonam Sinha's name as their candidate from Lucknow constituency. 

Lucknow is Bhartiya Janata Party's home turf since 1991. It is same seat from where former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee contested and won. Rajnath Singh also won the lucknow seat in 2014.

Rampur: Jaya Prada vs Azam Khan

Once a colleague from the same party Azam Khan and Jaya Prada are now fighting against each other from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur seat. Azam Khan is known for using foul languages during election campaigns. 

Once in Samajwadi Party, Jaya Prada has now hopped in many other parties including Congress, now the actor-turned-politician has joined BJP. Rampur elections is going to be one of the most savage with Jaya Prada fighting against SP's Azam Khan.

Begusarai: Kanhaiya Kumar vs Giriraj Singh 

Kanhaiya Kumar rose to fame in 2016, when he was charged with sedition for shouting anti-national slogans at an event. Ever since, he is seen as the prominent face fighting against Narendra Modi's government. 

He is contesting the elections from Begusarai on CPI's ticket. He has been pitted against veteran BJP leader Giriraj Singh.

Patna Sahib: Shatrughan Sinha vs Ravi Shankar Prasad

The BJP has left many political analysts surprised when the party decided to field veteran minister Ravi Shankar Prasad from Patna Sahib because the he has never contested a Lok Sabha election. 

What makes this contest even more interesting is that he is pitted against Shatrughan Sinha who recently left Bhartiya Janata Party and joined Congress.   

Mumbai North: Urmila Matondkar vs Gopal Shetty 

Mumbai North has always been a celebrity seat and now to join the league is Urmila Matondkar who ruled many hearts with her movies. The actor-turned-politician made her political debut by joining the Congress.

 She will be contesting the elections from Mumbai North Seat against BJP's Gopal Shetty. It is the same constituency from where Govinda has contested the election and won.
