In an overwhelming gesture of appreciation for the film and its cast and crew; India’s defense Minister; Nirmala Sitharaman met the team of Uri on World Army Day that was observed yesterday.

Vicky Kaushal had a fabulous 2018 with hard-hitting performances in ‘Manmarziyaan', ‘Raazi' and ‘Sanju' and now he has kick-started 2019 with the gripping ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike' which hit the screens on the 11th of January. 


The film; produced by Ronnie Screwvala and directed by Aditya Dar tells the true tale of the surgical strikes by the Army on terror launch pads across the Line of Control in September 2016, in retaliation to an attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri that killed 17 Army personnel.


In an overwhelming gesture of appreciation for the film and its cast and crew; India's defense Minister; Nirmala Sitharaman met the team of Uri on World Army Day that was observed yesterday. 


Taking to her Twitter account; the Union Minister wrote," "At COAS Bipin Rawat's #ArmyDay "at home", with the team of the film #URITheSurgicalStrike. Yet to watch it, but heard many good things. The actors who were more than honored to meet the Minister; replied to her tweet from their own accounts. 


Uri was a multi starer that also featured Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina, and Kriti Kulhari among others. 





On the professional front; Vicky is now all geared up for Karan Johar's next ‘Takht' wherein he is portraying the character of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
