After a hiatus of nine years, Sony television's Dus Ka Dum makes a comeback, which also marks the return of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan as its host.

During the press conference of the show which was held yesterday, Salman Khan highly regarded the show being a special one for him and that his family is happy with the return of the show.

Dus Ka Dum flagged off only two seasons earlier, after which the show had to be discontinued from the channel. The makers of the show cited the reasons for its hiatus by stating that they wanted to introduce new developments in the format of the show.

When being quizzed by the media that whether the makers of Dus Ka Dum contemplated to bring in the new host during nine years break, NP Singh, CEO, Sony Pictures India, said, "Not at all. We were adamant that we wanted only Salman for this show."

To this, Salman interrupted and said, "And let me tell you, it's a fact. I know that I have always been the only choice to host Dus Ka Dum. The channel had been sure about it and I also got to know from people that they never wanted to do this with anyone else. And I was really excited when they came to me with the offer. Since I was hosting another show (Bigg Boss), we worked on the time schedule so that I could do both."

Moreover, Salman was questioned by a journalist if he can contemplate on any actors other than him who can play a host on the show. Salman replied, "Koi bhi (anyone). There's Shah Rukh (Khan), Aamir (Khan), Akki (Akshay Kumar) and even Sanju (Sanjay Dutt), all of them are really good." On being asked if he feels the heat of competition or is inspired from anyone, he said, "There are so many of them, naam nahi le sakta (can't take names)."

Besides Dus Ka Dum, Salman Khan has also been a host for Bigg Boss' eight seasons. Explaining the reasons for the makers to repeat their association with him, Salman Khan said, "I feel really fortunate that they keep getting me back. It's the love and also because I am very professional."

Meanwhile, the conference also saw Salman Khan amusing the media with a spoof video of Race 3. The video is the brainchild of a group from Odisha.

Dus Ka Dum will air on Sony TV from June 4 every Monday and Tuesday at 8.30 pm.
