Television shows' contemporary touch to mythological shows have witnessed a newfangled perspective to the history. However, significance of history gets perturbed for the sake of bringing a contemporary feel to the show.

According to the latest reports in a leading entertainment portal, Shashi-Sumeet Productions' upcoming show Karna Sangini which created a lot of buzz has roped in television Karan Sharma for the role of Krishna.

The show is touted to be an adaptation of Mahabharat with a contemporary touch. The ensemble cast includes Aashim Gulati and Tejasswi Prakash as the lead actors. The show marks Karan Sharma's debut in the mythological genre, who was last seen in Zee TV's Kaala Teeka. The actor is yet to sign the deal on the dotted line. The shoot of the show will commence by next week.

For the uninitiated, the actor had also shared screen space with Krystle D'Souza in Ekk Nayi Pehchaan. Additionally, the role of Arjun will be played by Kinshuk Vaidya, Duryodhan will be played by Paras Chhabra and Dushasan will be essayed by Rehaan Roy. The concept of the show revolves around the uncharted relationship of Karna and his wife Urvi. The show will be broadcasted by mid September on Star Plus.

Although, the show is a romantic saga, it will take the audience on the journey of the unheard episode of Mahabharata.

If the reports turn out to be true, then it would be interesting to witness an unexplored tale of the popular epic characters and Karan's new avatar as Krishna in the show.
