Jose Mourinho who boasts at being the greatest manager with two Champions League trophies that were achieved by underdogs and domestic championships in four different countries is now faced with a challenge to prove he is yet great at what he does. He last brought home the trophy in 2017, last league win in 2015 and then 2010 the European champion with Inter Milan.

And now Mourinho is reportedly being considered for German club Borussia Dortmund. So will he fit the bill? Below mentioned are the reasons why we think Mourinho and Dortmund are not a match made in heaven:

Doesn't Encourage Young Players: Dortmund is known for developing new and young players like England's Jadon Sancho. But Mourinho is not known to encourage youngsters like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, though he brought through some young players, it's not his nature.

Defending style: Dortmund's game style is similar to that of Manchester United, attacking the football. But Mourinho is more traditional, defending with experienced players, rather than attacking with the forwards. And as there was a clash with the United style and Mourinho struggling badly at Old Trafford, it may be the same with Dortmund.

Dortmund financially bare: Dortmund cannot afford to pay a world-record fee, as Mourinho who is famous for United spurging out £89m on Paul Pogba. Mourinho who enjoyed the spending power at other clubs, if chooses Dortmund will be limited financially. NOt only that but Dortmund will also not be able to retain the clubs best players such as Robert Lewandowski and Ilkay Gundogan if they get offered better opportunity by Sanchos.

Times have changed for Mourinho: After Mourinho won the  UEFA Cup with Porto in 2003, he at that time could have been claimed to be the best manager in the world for the next decade. But given the fact that it's 2019, and his Treble-winning campaign at Inter in 2010 is the past his tactics no longer work against younger managers such as Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, who possesses a rigid tactical discipline in their teams. They also get the best out of players such as Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba in recent times, and players such as Kevin de Bruyne and Mo Salah have also gone on to become world stars.
