It came as a shocker when the news regarding Annapurna Studios catching fire started surfacing the internet. Yes! The famous redeveloped Annapurna Studios caught fire and the news was confirmed by Nagarjuna's son Akhil Akkineni. Akhil tweeted about the incident by saying, "Unfortunately there was a fire accident in Annapurna studios this evening. Fortunately it was contained and no one was injured. Thank god."

A fire officer from Hyderabad district said "A film set caught fire at around 6:15 in the evening. Though the flames were very high, the blaze was completely extinguished within two hours." A house which was a part of a famous movie Manam was seriously destroyed in the fire. Manam starred all the three generations of Akkineni, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. The cause of the fire is not known and as per reports the sets of Chiranjeevi's coming film -Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy were also damaged.

The Annapurna Studios was founded by Akkineni Nageswara Rao two decades ago in 1975. The Studio provides production facilities, sound stages for set construction, outdoor sets, editing, dubbing and digital intermediate suites. 

Recently the famous RK Studios in Mumbai caught fire where the sets of the show Super Dancers 2 was damaged.
