The Bejoy Nambiar's Solo Tamil version was pulled out on Friday, the next day from the day of release. Since the release, the film has not been lucky enough for the makers due to ongoing Tamil Film Producer Council's strike against Local Body Entertainment Taxes who levied 10% additional tax apart from the GST 28%. Now, the climax of the Malayalam version has been changed without Bejoy's consent, tweeted the director. "For all those asking about the changed ending. It has been done without my knowledge and consent. Good or Bad I stand by the film I made," the director had tweeted.

On contacting the director about the issue, Bejoy refused to say any further. "I don't want to say any more on this to avoid controversy," he said. However, he reassured that the film will be resumed in Tamil as soon as the strike comes to an end. The director was upset of course and thus he didn't want to comment anything as the things are out of the control.

Solo is a romantic compilation that has four sections, each section is dedicated to 4 elements of nature (water, air, fire and earth). Dulquer Salmaan Starres film who plays the lead role in all these four sections with different roles and different leading actress in each one. Neha Sharma, Sruthi Hariharan, Sai Dhansikaa and Arthi Venkatesh played the female leads. The film had a brilliant composition of songs consisting of eleven music composers. The film was also shot by three cinematographers. While the movie was widely appreciated for its music and aesthetics, the climax of the movie was a point of contention for most of the critics and audience.
