Nagraj Manjule's runaway success 'Sairat' would be remade in various regional languages. The first remake of the film is in Kannada. Director S Narayan has helmed the love story, which has been titled 'Manasu Mallige'. While the makers have retained Rinku Rajguru as their female lead, popular villain Sathya Prakash's son, Nishant, will make his debut as male lead with this remake. The audio of the film was released on Valentine’s Day. The project which is directed by S Naryan is produced by Rockline Venkatesh and Zee TV. The remake rights of the movie in all South Indian languages, has been bought by Rockline Venkatesh and Dharma Production has taken the Hindi rights. Music directors Ajay-Atul fashioned history in the Marathi industry with Sairat’s music, and the duo will be debuting in Sandalwood by composing songs and background score for its Kannada remake Manasu Mallige. The film has five songs and Narayan wanted to release them on Valentine’s Day because it is a love story. “After many years, we will see a pure love story on screen in Kannada,” he says. “I believe, after Cheluvina Chittara, this is a movie that has dealt with love in such depth. So I was keen on bringing it out on Valentine’s Day,” he said to NIE. With post-production nearly done, the movie may see an early summer release. After audio release, screening of songs and guests speeches actor Sathyaprakash honored producer Rockline Venkatesh, Zee TV Akash Chawla and director S Narayan with a shawl and Shirdi Saibaba idol at Sri Chamundeswari studio in Bengaluru.
