After Dwayne Johnson joined the Fast & Furious gang in Fast Five, he proved to be a game-changer franchise and now even John Cena joined in to make such an impact. Just last week it was reported that John Cena was officially announced to be joining Fast & Furious 9. In his recent interview, he revealed that he is super excited to get behind the wheel.

He said that there are countless ways to describe the upside of the opportunity he received. He revealed that he is a car guy, and that's how the Fast and Furious franchise was built off of. He said, "They have a way of weaving this family narrative and making it a truly successful and globally reaching franchise." He also further stated that the franchise is known for delivering the larger-than-life action and are forever trying to outdo themselves but they also never shy away from the story and the narrative that they've developed. He also admitted to how they are constantly redefining the franchise but not the ethos. He further stated, "Literally, I'm surrounded by a group of people who are better than I am and such skilled people with so much experience, so what a great environment to learn from. It really is a tremendous opportunity."

John Cena's casting for Fast and Furious 9 was not a sudden decision. Last year while promoting his movie Blockers, an entertainment portal old the actor how perfect he'd be for Fast & Furious and Cena replied saying, "a dream." But in April Vin Diesel shared a cryptic Instagram video where Cena's potential involvement was teased. Cena in his interview thanked the entertainment portal for helping him get the role in the movie and he also went to thank Vin Diesel. He said, "But also, I certainly owe a thanks to Vin Diesel as well. Because he sent out a social media message kind of alluding to the fact that that opportunity may be real, but at the time it certainly was not. And his message had a lot of weight and appeal to it. I guess that kind of got this avalanche of opportunity rolling, and I'm just really happy to get the chance. I give everybody who is attached to the franchise and who enjoys the franchise the promise that you will get my absolute best."
