How much did Starbucks pay Game of Thrones' makers to feature their coffee cup?

This year Game Of Thrones did have a lot of drama, well we are not talking about drama in the series, obviously, it was full of it, but in episode 4 of Games of Thrones season 8, many viewers couldn't get over the accidental coffee cup that was seen in one frame. It is speculated that the makers of Game of Thrones did rake in big bucks.

Nothing in this life is free. Same goes with the cup that was surreptitiously left in a scene of "Game of Thrones" and HBO reportedly "doesn't take dollars" to advertise content as people are paying to subscribe for an ad-free experience. Righteous isn't it? And though the cup is now recycled from the fourth episode of the season 8 of Game of Thrones, but not before gifting Starbucks a billion-dollar shot of FREE advertising. Free?? Ok if that's what they want us to believe.

It was reported by a leading daily how Starbucks would've had to pay $250,000 to $1 million just for 1 of their cups to be left so conveniently in front of the Mother of Dragons. The source said, "If we were looking at this in the grand scheme of things and we were comparing 'Game of Thrones' to the other largest-watched content out there... you're looking at the $250,000 to $1 million range for product placement where that product was positioned with a very central character."

The publicity that the coffee company received was humongous as it was reported there were 100 million people talking about this so-called accident over the world. It is also reported that "The entire world right now is talking about Starbucks and 'Games of Thrones' which is crazy. That doesn't happen for a brand." So are you'll still telling me that NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE saw the coffee cup during post-production? How can Game of Thrones who reportedly invest almost $15 million per episode miss on something so huge?

Production designer Hauke Richter in an interview stated, "things can get forgotten on set," he also revealed how the coffee anachronistic was simply getting blown out of proportion. What we yet can't wrap our heads around is how could they forget a Starbucks cup that was sure to get 100 million people talking?? Do let us know how can we leave our Instagram on the side of a Game Of Thrones set, please? After all, they are handing out things for free so we assume!
