Ed Sheeran at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 in Johannesburg opted for casual jeans and tee combo while Beyoncé wowed in a hot pink dress, sparked a heated debate. Though their singing was lovely most people couldn't take their eyes off Ed's casual outfit. While Beyonce was clearly stadium-ready, donning an extravagant pink ruffled costume that trailed behind her and showed off her famous pins, flame-haired Sheeran wore his trademark casual attire, blue jeans and a t-shirt.

After fans saw what both stars were wearing a huge debate erupted on social media. Many fans believed the outfits perfectly represented white male privilege and thought that the public had wrongly enabled Ed to think it's OK to wear this in the presence of Bey.

Ed Sheeran finally decided to reply to the backlash he received for his choice of attire while performing next to an extravagantly-dressed Beyonce in South Africa. Ed who took the backlash sportingly took to his Instagram Stories by sharing a story written about the furore and also offered a link for his followers to by his low-key black top. Ed, shared a story titled, "People Are Angry Ed Sheeran Wore a Shirt while Beyoncé Wore Couture During their Global Citizen Performance." He went on to offer a closer look at the shirt, which had HOAXUKSINCE94 written on it, alongside the comments #dressedtoimpress and 'swipe up to get the look.' Clearly a fan of the brand, in another story he shared another message: 'Follow 'hoax1994 for more of my amazing fashion choices x.'

If you love Ed's look you can get the T-shirt from the UK streetwear brand Hoax 1994 but to shop Beyonce's look you'll probs need your own fashion label. Sad right? But that's Queen Bey for ya.
