‘T2 Trainspotting’ is all set for the SXSW. At the annual celebration of the indie movie in Austin, the Tristar Pictures release, starring Ewan McGregor will be the secret screening.

The tradition of the ‘Secret Screening’, which has become a fun game at film festivals, as attendees to the fest try to guess which movie, will play at a theater that is near them. Some of the times the news of the name of the movie gets out early, but in most cases, the audiences are genuinely caught off guard for what’s about to show.

Three years ago at the Sundance Film Festival, it was Lars Von Trier, helmed ‘Nymphomaniac,’ to the shock of a bracket of elderly attendees. In 2015, SXSW took the game, up a notch by hosting a secret midnight world premiere of the Universal Studios tentpole “Furious 7” to a prolonged standing ovation, as the cast paid tribute to the late Paul Walker.

‘T2 Trainspotting,’ helmer Danny Boyle’s follow-up to his 1996 black comedy about a group of drug addicts, who lives in Scotland, has already released in the United Kingdom. The movie will be released in limited theaters in the United States on March 17, then will expanding on March 31.

Both Danny Boyle and Ewan McGregor will be in the city Austin for a post-screening Q&A, which will be moderated by Richard Linklater. The duo will also be doing the press conference for the movie on Monday.

Boyle was spotted in Austin on Saturday night at the premiere of Tri-Star’s upcoming movie, ‘Baby Driver’ starring Ansel Elgort who plays the role of the driver of a team of mean-spirited bank robbers.
