According to the reports from sources close to the development the upcoming Marvel movie 'Thor: Ragnarok' is set to be the film with the longest runtime in the entire Thor franchise, with the runtime of 130 minutes and 21 seconds. The reports further state that the upcoming movie will not be very far behind the like of some of the other 'Marvel' movies such as Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers in terms of time duration. Interestingly, this news comes after the statement that the director of the movie, Taika Waititi, gave back in July that the film would be one of the shortest in the Marvel canon.

At the moment, Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi along with the rest of the lead cast are busy with the promotions of the film. Interestingly, the director of the movie, way back in July, commented about the movie and said that the movie is not going to be very long. The director, in an interview in July, was asked about the runtime of the film to which he replied by saying that it is not going to be a very, very long film. The director in his statement also added that he thinks stories are better when one leaves the audiences wanting more, and this film moves at a clip as it is got stuff happening all the time. The director while further talking about the movie also added that he thinks that people are still going to feel exhausted by the end of the movie, as they would've been on this big journey and stuff, so he doesn't think they need the film to be three hours.
