La La Land actress Emma Stone, the actress who won her first Oscar, earlier this year has recently ousted the Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence to claim the top spot on Forbes 2017 list of the world's highest paid actresses. According to Forbes' calculations over a 12-month period from June 2016 to June 2017, the 28-year-old actress Emma Stone, who won an Oscar in the category of ‘Best Actress' for her role of a struggling actress in La La Land, made an upwards of $26 million in pre-tax earnings.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Anniston secured a second place on the list as the actress made a total of $25.5 million in pre tax earnings this year, with her bank account still seeing the residual income coming in from the popular TV sitcom ‘Friends' along with myriads of endorsement deals with brands such as Smart Water and Emirates Airline. Jennifer Lawrence, who topped the list of The Highest Paid Actress, for past two consecutive years, toppled down to the third spot with earning of $24 million, almost half of her previous year's earnings. One of the man reasons that Jennifer Lawrence went down in ranking was the conclusion of the ‘Hunger Games' franchise, in which the actress was playing the lead role. But the ‘Silver Lining Playbook' actress still continues to make money from movie deals and an endorsement deal with fashion brand Christian Dior.

The list of highest paid actors and actresses from Forbes is made every year by compiling data from box office collections with Nielsen Data in addition to the data collected by conducting interviews with some of the most acclaimed business insiders.
