Miss North Dakota Cara Mund has been announced as the winner of Miss America Competition in Atlantic City. Among the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, Cara Mund emerged as a winner of what marks the 97th edition of Miss America Competition.

By winning the title, Cara became the first ever contestant from the midwestern state of North Dakota, to have won the contest. Mund chose to support the Make-a-Wish Foundation for the competition. The foundation works for the betterment of children suffering from life-threatening conditions. Cara founded the Annual Fashion Show at North Dakota's Make-A-Wish Foundation when she was just 14 and has been working with them since then.

Cara Mund, 23, is a graduate from Ivy League, who has also won the national dance championship. For many summers, She had acquired thorough training alongside the renowned Rockettes. For the talent section of the competition, Mund performed jazz to "The Way You Make Me Feel." Her performance was met with resonating applause from the audience for her innate dancing abilities.

For the final QnA session, she commented on the recent Paris climate withdrawal issue, calling it a "bad decision." She also added, "Whether you believe it or not, we need to be at that table."

As a part of the winning deal, she would receive a six-figure salary, along with annual expenses and a scholarship of $50,000.

During the panel interview, Cara expressed that winning the pageant was at the top of her bucket list. And being the first woman to have brought the crown to Dakota, is a dream come true and Cara couldn't contain her happiness and broke into tears after winning the title.
