As Deepika Padukone is riding high on the success of her latest film Padmaavat, the actress is moving turtle-slow with her next projects. Amidst her wedding rumours with her beau Ranveer Singh which has been doing the rounds off lately, speculations about her next project is also undertoned with no confirmations on any. Her walk out from Vishal Bhardwaj's Sapna Didi owing to Irrfan Khan's ill health that stalled the movie has raised many questions about her next big step.

According to a leading entertainment portal, Deepika Padukone is playing her cards quite discreetly by steeping into the realm of film production. The actress seems to have taken a sharp diversion from acting to production to vest into the trade tactics of business of cinema.

Deepika Padukone will be producing and featuring in a women centric film that marks her debut as the producer and the establishment of her own production house. Confirming the news about Deepika's newly acquired passion for producing films, a source close to the development revealed to a leading entertainment portal, "Deepika Padukone is totally focused on setting up her production house. In fact, next year in February, Deepika is looking to launch her maiden production venture that will be co-produced by Meghna Gulzar."

Elaborating more about the film in question, the source continued, "The film will be a female centric story and will be based in India itself."

Reports suggest that the film will translate the real life story of the acid attack survivor Lakshmi on the big screen. For the uninitiated, Lakshmi is not only a survivor, but has also undergone nine remedial surgeries, giving a ray of hope to many.

Deepika will be teaming up with producer Meghna Gulzar for the impending untitled production, which is scheduled to roll out next year.
