Netflix has caught the fancy of many filmmakers. As the digital trend is getting bigger day by day, filmmakers are leaving no stone unturned to explore the medium. With the revolution of digital content, masses have awakened to the dawn of unusual content and choose actors over superstars.

According to reports, Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to debut on Netflix with his web series based on the cult novel Midnight's Children, authored by Salman Rushdie.

The filmmaker is all set to collaborate with Netflix to direct the series based on the cult story. Marking his first book adaptation on digital unlike his book to film adaptation which includes Maqbool, Haider and Omkara, the filmmaker is looking forward to translate his vision on the digital platform.

Confirming the same, a source close to the development revealed to a leading entertainment portal, "Vishal Bhardwaj will be directing a web series for Netflix India. The show will continue in his tradition of adapting books for the screen. And this time, it will be based on Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children."

Further information about the series is veiled at the moment. An official announcement is awaited by the filmmaker and Netflix.

Meanwhile, Vishal Bhardwaj's recent offering Pataakha starring debutante Radhika Madan and Dangal star Sanya Malhotra tanked at the box office unexpectedly. Though the content of the film was lauded by the critics, audiences failed to notice the substance in the film. His next was touted to be a biopic titled Sapna Didi with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles; however, Irrfan Khan's illness brought the project to standstill, which had led Deepika to return her signing amount to the filmmaker.
