Vikramaditya Motwane created a great impact with his directorial Udaan eight years back despite of taking the route less traveled by casting fresh new faces in the film. As per the latest buzz in the leading daily, Vikramaditya Motwane is making the sequel to the film after eight years.

Udaan revolved around the story of Rohan who gets expelled from the school for watching porn with his friends Vikram, Binoy and Maninder. After unwillingly returning home, Rohan who gets tired of his short tempered father's constant torture to be like him, Rohan leaves home with his younger brother. The film was loosely adapted from Anurag Kashyap's life.
Released in 2010, Udaan not only performed graciously well at the box office, but also garnered accolades from the audience and the critics alike.

However, Vikramaditya had to face a string of box office debacles after Udaan. After the commercial failures of his film Lootera, Trapped and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, the filmmaker has now decided to work on Udaan's sequel. It is also reported that the story and the screenplay of Udaan 2 has been finalized and the cast of the film has also been locked.
Reports suggest that the cast of the film has been retained from the first film and that the film will show a leap of 10 years and the lives of all the characters after 10 years.

Ronit Roy, Ram Kapoor, Rajat Barmecha and Navjot Singh will play the same characters as they did for the former film. Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap have co written Udaan 2.
