The 1987 hit movie Mr India that featured Anil Kapoor and the late Sridevi in the leading roles completed 32 years in cinema on May 29. One cannot deny that Mr India has all the elements of an entertaining movie, right from the fights and tantrums between the kids and Sridevi's character, the Hawa Hawai song and how can we ever forget the Amrish Puri's Mogambo Khush Hua. And it is now reported that Boney Kapoor is planning to reboot the classic film.

Recently in an interview, Boney revealed his plans for Mr India. He said, "The idea is to create a reboot first, and then, make a franchise of it. It needs to be made more contemporary. We have a basic structure in mind. We haven't decided on a timeline yet, but intend to make it soon."

He also spoke about how the movie changed the way people looked at Sridevi. He said, "While Sri was considered a glamorous star earlier, the audience's perception of her changed after Mr India - then on, she was seen as a powerful actress. Anil too became more legitimate a performer with the film. After Sri, I have even more reason to make the film now."

He also revealed how he would be happy if the original cast came together for the remake of this movie. He also revealed that the cast and crew made the film what it was and if the original cast wants to be apart of the film he said they could join him. He also revealed that Shekar Kapur, the original director, if he is interested in directing it could also come on board.

Anil Kapoor on the 32nd anniversary of the movie shared a collage of images from the movie and dedicated it to Veeru Devgan. He wrote, "#MrIndia was made iconic by its children friendly action scenes & Veeru's Midas touch. I want to dedicate its 32nd anniversary to the man who made these unforgettable moments possible. #VeeruDevgan was an amazing man & I'm lucky to have worked with him. He is sorely missed..."
