Sonam Kapoor and Swara Bhasker have starred together in films like Raanjhana, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Veere Di Wedding. The actresses share a strong bond with each other so much such that Sonam Kapoor will be casting Swara in her first directorial. Sonam Kapoor has always been keen to venture in film direction; however, she isn't being able to squeeze any time for it due to the influx of acting offers. The actress is now looking forward to film direction. Talking about the same, Sonam said to a leading Indian tabloid, "I have a couple of stories written for Swara. As colleagues, we interact a lot, and so, it's easy for me to envision her in different roles. I am sure whenever the project rolls, it will turn out to be an amazing association. There are so many actors who leave me awestruck with their talents."

On the other hand, Swara is too elated to work in Sonam's film, she said, "Sonam will make for a great director because she has some amazing ideas, besides having a great vision. I am looking forward to the day when she starts the project. She is one of my favorite people in the world. We have a great working relationship."

Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor's latest outing Veere Di Wedding has garnered mixed reviews from the audience as well as the critics. Recently, Swara Bhasker got trolled for her comments against ban on Veere Di Wedding in Pakistan. However, her close friend Sonam Kapoor commented that people hate Swara for having an opinion, but love is the other side of hate, which means that people actually love her. Sonam's comment received backlash on social media and in defense to her comment, she tweeted, "My defence of her has nothing to do with her comments on Pakistan! Get your fact right and stop trying to spread mischief and hate! #aproudworldcitizen #feminist #liberal."
