Even though Karan Johar's Kalank; was an ensemble of one of the most powerful stars of today, Sonakshi Sinha says she has no qualms about having lesser screen time compared to the other actors because her character of Satya, was very crucial to the film!

Boasting of a cast like Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur; Sonakshi said it was not difficult for her to standout form the rest, because of her character.

Deccan Chronicle has quoted Sona saying," It wasn't difficult for me to stand out in a multi starrer flick. Everybody has a very important part to play in terms of taking the story forward. If people start thinking about the length of the role then no multi starrers will ever be made."

She further added," When you see the film as a whole, all these things become very trivial. Every character has a part to play in the narrative to take the story forward, and if every actor thinks that way then we will never be able to make multi-starrers. We have to see the bigger picture and whatever works for the film. I can't complain because it is a meaty part."

Speaking of her character and the response that it has received; Sonakshi has been quoted by another daily saying," The response has been fantastic, everyone has loved my character and my portrayal of Satya and that makes me really happy. Playing a character who is dying and harboring so much pain is never easy. Abhishek really helped a lot in bringing that out of me. Satya has been one of the most fulfilling characters I have played."

However; as ironic as it may sound, Sonakshi says there she shares no resemblance to her character of Satya. Elaborating on the same; the Lootera actress said," Satya is so graceful and elegant, whereas I am a tomboy who likes wearing track pants and chill. I am not similar to Satya at all. Also in terms of the period she belongs to, the family that she lives with, the whole setting - there cannot be any similarities."

However; the one qualm that the Akira actress has is the fact that she did not share a scene with the iconic Madhuri Dixit Nene. Speaking about the same; Sonakshi said," Madhuri ma'am and I don't have a scene together. I'm a big fan of her since my childhood and I really wanted to share at least one frame with her. I have this complaint to my director Abhishek."

Karan Johar's dream project; Kalank, set in the pre-partitioned India, released on the 17th of April and is directed by Abhishek Varman.
