Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra were seen visiting cities such as Lucknow and Delhi for the promotions of their film Jabariya Jodi. Their film is based on true-life instances of groom-kidnapping, where Sidharth will be seen playing the role of Abhay, the kidnapper, whereas Parineeti is said to essay the role of Babli. And if the trailer and the songs are anything to go by, the chemistry of Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra has been well-appreciated by fans.

Jabariya Jodi which was initially set to hit theatres on this week on August 2, 2019, has now been postponed by a week and is set for release on August 9, 2019. After the successful run of films such as Kabir Singh, Super 30, The Lion King and Judgementall Hai Kya at the box-office, the makers have come upon this decision. The prominent exhibitors across India have also requested the makers to move the release date ahead in order to avoid the clutter. Even Sonakshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana will release on August 2, 2019.

Jabariya Jodi which will hit theatres on August 9, will also take advantage of Bakri Eid which is on August 12. The film is helmed by Prashant Singh and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and Shaailesh R. Singh's Karma Media and Entertainment. This will also be the second time Sidharth and Parineeti will come together on the big screen after five years.

Sidharth in a recent interview spoke about people's conception about him taking up the film Jabariya Jodi, he said, "People just assumed that I may not be very convincing as a Bihari boy in Jabariya Jodi because I've never done something like this before. What they don't realise is that I come from Delhi and I know people who speak in that lehza, and so, it couldn't have been so difficult for me to speak like that."
