Bollywood films aren't new to the phenomenon of experimenting with names. However, names don't identify whether or not the film will live up to its name. Eventually, it is weighed against the content and performances than its name.

As Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's next with Ekta Kapoor have already been announced, the film which was earlier named as Shotgun Shaadi has been renamed to Jabariya Jodi which means a forced couple.

The flick revolves around groom abduction, which was prevalent in the northern part of India. The film marks the second collaboration of Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra, who have earlier worked together in Hasee Toh Phasee.

Commenting about the reason behind renaming the film, a source said to a leading daily, "The movie is based on pakadwa vivaah, the makers felt that this was an apt name. In Bhojpuri, jabariya means zabardasti, so the title refers to a couple who is forced to get married. The two actors have also shot for the posters before leaving for Lucknow, so they should be out soon."

Interestingly, Sidharth recommended the title change. The source added, "He came across this word during the readings and told the team about it. They liked it instantly."

About Sidharth's association with Balaji Telefilms who are producing the movie, Sidharth said, "Balaji will always be special because, till date, my biggest film (Ek Villain, 2014) is with Ekta. That's why the thought of calling her up about this script earlier this year was obvious. She's good at presenting and marketing a film. We have had great energies which have worked for us in Ek Villain and we are going to amplify it further with this movie." The movie is expected to go on floors soon in Lucknow.
