Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra on Wednesday denied any involvement in her late father's business, amid reports that she along with her mother and sister were being dragged to court over a Rs 21 lakh loan allegedly taken by her father; Surendra Shetty from Mr. Prahad Amra.

The Baazigar actress has said in a statement," I have had no involvement in my late father's business ever and have no knowledge of the financial dealing of the company at all. This gentleman is misleading the media. I knew him in the capacity of our family car mechanic, that's all."

This has come in response to reports that Parhad Amra, proprietor of an automobile agency, has taken Shilpa, her sister Shamita and their mother Sunanda, to court claiming that the Shetty family owes him over 21 lakh rupees that were taken on loan by Shilpa Shetty's father Surendra Shetty.

In a media report; Mr. Amrahas been quoted saying," All payments were made through cheques drawn in favor of Surendra's firm 'Corgifts'."

Amra has also claimed that; Surendra had informed him that his daughters and wife, were partners in the company while he had asked for the loan. However; unfortunately before he could repay the loan, Surendra passed away on October 11, 2016, and since then Shilpa, Shamita, and their mother have refused to repay the loan.

Parhad's advocate Yusuf Iqbal was quoted in the same report as saying, "The matter came up for hearing on December 8, 2018, and since no one from the Shetty family nor their lawyer were present for the hearing, the court directed Juhu police to make an inquiry under section 202 of Criminal Procedure Code and submit their report. The matter is slated for hearing on January 29."

Well, only time will tell what the future holds for this Bollywood diva. In the meanwhile, we wish her and her family strength in such crucial days.
