Shahid Kapoor who was seen in Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh, the film proved to be a game-changer for him. In Kabir Singh, Shahid was his very best and in turn was not only appreciated for his work by the audience and the industry, but his film also raked in big bucks at the box office as the film crossed Rs 275 crore mark and also joined the ranks of top 10 grosser of all-time. Shahid who has now become the talk of the town would definitely want to cash on the same.

Though Shahid has not yet signed his next film, the news of him being approached for the remake of the recent Telugu hit Jersey starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath, is making headlines. And a source reportedly told an entertainment daily that he demanded Rs 40 crore for the film, which is a huge amount.

Initially, it was reported that Karan Johar had brought the rights of the film and would produce it under his banner, Dharma production. But it is now said that Dil Raju and Allu Aravind wants to invest in this Bollywood venture and are looking to produce it under their respective banners of Sri Venkateswara Creations and Geetha Arts.

The film Jersey, tells the emotional story of an underdog cricketer's journey, who starts off his second inning to regain a place in the cricket team. The film also features Sathyaraj, Brahmaji and Ronit Kamra in key roles. If things go as planned, will be a treat to watch Shahid a cricketer in this movie. After all, he was also seen essaying the role of a cricketer in 2009's Dil Bole Hadippa helmed by Anurag Singh and alongside Rani Mukerji.
