Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju; was undoubtedly one of 2018's best films, which did wonders not only on the box office but also massively impressed the critics and brought to light again, Ranbir Kapoor's impeccable acting skills!

However; the film had a lot of naysayers as well! And one thing that a vast majority felt that the film was an attempt to whitewash the image of Sanjay Dutt! And now; the man himself has broken his silence on the issue!

The Khalnayak actor has been quoted in a recent interview to DNA saying," I'm aware that a lot of people said it was an exercise in whitewashing. Frankly, it doesn't matter. No one spends over Rs 50-60 crore to whitewash anyone's image. My ‘whitewashing' happened when the Supreme Court gave me a clean chit - saying I am not a terrorist."

He further said," Also, if the film didn't have an element of truth, it wouldn't have gone on to do a business of Rs 334.57 crore Surely, something in it struck a chord with the audience."

Having a biopic under your name is certainly an achievement for not just an actor, but for any individual! And Sanjay Dutt; an actor know for his strong characters in films like Munnabhai MBBS, Khalnayak, Vastav, Thanedar and many more, has also said," I was extremely flattered, proud and humbled to see a biopic on me. It means I must have had a crazy life. Everyone knows I have overcome all the odds and come back. I think it's a good story and Raju Hirani was the right person to direct it. It's a sensitive issue."

Sanju also boasted of an immensely powerful cast in the form of Ranbir Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal, Sonam Kapoor and Anusha Sharma. Lets not also forget that the film proved to be a breakthrough film for Vicky Kaushal's career as he was loved for his portrayal of Kamli!

Well; do let us know what your views of the film are! Do you think it would be right to title the film as a propaganda film?
