Salman Khan's Eid releases are always very special. The actor treats his fans with his big budget movies on the occasion of Eid. Like every year, this year too he released his film 'Tubelight' around the festival of Eid but the film failed to impress the audience. Not only this, it made a very poor box-office collection and the distributors and exhibitors suffered losses. Several producers and distributors were demanding a refund from Salman. And the actor is finally paying the dues today.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted today, "In rare gesture,SalmanKhan to refund approx Rs 35 crore today to distributors & exhibitors as compensation for losses suffered in Tubelight." Later in a series of tweets, he also said that Tubelight suffered around 40 percent losses in India. He also mentioned that the distributors of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' are now praying for a refund from the makers.

Earlier talking about the losses Salman's father Salim Khan said that "When a distributor suffers a loss, the producer needs to show some responsibility and share the burden. We, too, have done the same thing. We met a few of them and are trying to find a middle ground. We will pay back the distributors.

'Tubelight' was directed by Kabir Khan and revolved around the story of Laxman Singh Bisht and his brother Bharat portrayed by Sohail Khan. It also starred Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and child actor Matin Rey Tangu.
