Bollywood is currently interested in making only biopics and the remake of classic old films. The most recent remake of a classic film that is making headlines is Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer Satte Pe Satta. Farah Khan who will be directing the film, while Rohit Shetty will be producing it, are considering Hrithik Roshan to reprise the role of Amitabh Bachchan. But though nothing is yet confirmed, a recent report claimed that it was actually Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan who wanted to buy the rights of the film.

A source reportedly told a leading daily, "A couple of years ago, Sohail was keen to acquire the rights of Satte Pe Satta to remake it with Salman, playing Amitabh Bachchan's role. It's a double role and Salman would have been ideal to play the ideal brother. But as Sohail didn't have Salman's dates till 2019, and Rajesh Vasani wanted to start it earlier, he had to turn down his offer." And hence the purchase of the rights of the film didn't go through. Even Publicist, Rajesh Vasani had announced on Facebook a few years back that Satte Pe Satta will have a new avatar but didn't give out any other details.

Salman is currently packed with various projects. He is currently filming for Dabangg 3, which is helmed by Prabhudheva and stars Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan and Sudeep. The film will hit theatres on December 20, 2019. While he will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Inshallah with Alia Bhatt, which is a love story and will be released on Eid 2020.
