The MeToo movement created a storm in India by digging up the horrific sexual harassment stories prevailing in the Indian workplaces. Bollywood being gripped majorly by the controversy, several popular celebrities among others were not spared from the wrath. After the announcement of the second season of Sacred Games in September, the series started fishing in the troubled waters and hinted uncertainties about its arrival.

Earlier, it was reported that Sacred Games might axe the arrival of their second season owing to the controversies befallen on its makers. However, contrary to the reports, the makers of the popular Netflix series who stand by the MeToo movement has retained Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap and Varun Grover in the team for the second season.

A statement from the digital streaming giant said, "After an independent investigation, the results helped inform Netflix's decision to continue with Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap on season 2 of Sacred Games. We continue to collaborate with our production partners to ensure and maintain a safe and respectful working environment."

Surprisingly, Varun Grover, whose justification over the alleged false claims against him compelled the nation to question the veracity of the same in the wake of the movement, will continue his role as the writer for the second season of Sacred Games.

Meanwhile, the first season of Sacred Games received immense adulation for the unfiltered performance of Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. The second season will retain the original actors along with some new additional characters.
