Rajkumar Rao to play Dharmendra's character in Chupke Chupke remake!

Remakes have become the new flavor of Bollywood! With films like Pati Patni Aur Woh, Coolie No,1, Agneepath and so many more; there seems to be one more name adding up to the list.


And this time; the film in contention is 1975 classic comedy, Chupke Chupke, featuring veteran actors like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore and Jaya Bachchan (then Jaya Bhaduri) in the lead along with, actors like Om Prakash, Usha Kiran, David Abraham Cheulkar, Asrani and Keshto Mukherjee in pivotal roles.

A certain source close to these developments has been quoted by Mumbai Mirror saying," Chupke Chupke is an iconic film and a favorite of many, including Rajkummar. He loved the idea of a remake and has agreed to come on board. It will have Raj in the dual avatars. The script is still being finalised, while the director and the rest of the cast are yet to be locked but the team is really excited about this one."


Now; for those living away from the yesteryear cinema, Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1975 slice-of-life cult comedy, completed 44 years last week. And it was then that during an interview; Bollywood's original action hero, Dharmendra was asked about the possibility of a remake to which he had said," With an intelligent writer, for sure. But it would be a challenge because so many people, young and old, have seen the original and loved it. So, it will have to be just as matchless."
