The #MeToo moment had taken the industry by storm last year with Tanushree Dutta being the torch bearer of the Indian movement against sexual harassment after she opened up about her horrific experiences with actor Nana Patekar. With many dirty secrets falling out of the bag and big names being scrutinized, the latest accusations have come against the Sanju director Rajkumar Hirani.

It is believed that an assistant director of Sanju is the woman who has accused the director of harassment in her #MeToo account said she "had no choice but to be polite to the director."

However clearing his stand on the same; Mr. Hirani has denied any such occurrences and had come out with a statement on Sunday; which read," I was completely shocked when these allegations were brought to my notice about two months back. I had suggested immediately that it is essential to take this matter to any committee or any legal body. The complainant has chosen to go to the media instead. I want to very strongly state that this is a false, malicious and mischievous story being spread with the sole intention of destroying my reputation."

And now, the Munnabhai MBBS director; has found support for industry folks. In a media interaction producer, Boney Kapoor had said," Raj Kumar Hirani is too good a man to do something like this, I don't believe this allegation. He can never do something like this."

Apart of Boney Kapoor; actor Sharman Joshi, who has worked with Mr. Hirani in ‘3 Idiots' also extended his support to the director in a tweet, that read," Raju Sir, is a man of immense integrity, character, honor, compassion, and truthfulness, all the virtues one would imagine are non-existent in people today, someone I am absolutely inspired by and have learned from and because of whom I believe I have gone onto being a better person. All I want to say is that this too shall pass and I can imagine how demeaning it might be to even stand up for yourself in a situation such as this."

Recently; during a media interaction, actress Dia Mirza, who too has worked with Mr. Rajkumar Hirani in Sanju said," I am deeply distressed by this news. As someone who has known and respects Raju Sir for 15 years, I can only hope that a due official inquiry is conducted. He is one of the most decent human beings I have ever worked with and I think it would be grossly unjust on my part to speak on this as I do not know the details."

The victim; whose father suffered from a terminal illness during the filming of Sanju, had said in an interview to Huffington Post," I had no choice but to be polite to him. It was unbearable but the reason I endured it all until I couldn't, was because I didn't want my job to be taken away from me, and work to be questioned. Ever. I was worried that if I left midway, it would be impossible to find another job in this industry if he were to speak badly about my work because if Hirani said I wasn't good, everybody would listen. My future would be in jeopardy." The women said; she saw a fatherly figure in Hirani until the assault.
