2019's Bollywood calendar started with Uri: The Surgical Strike and The Accidental Prime Minister; and the films were quickly dubbed as Propaganda films by many sectors of the society.

However; according to ace director Prakash Jha, who has himself made politically inclined films like Raajneeti and Satyagraha among others say's such films do not have any effect on the final outcome of election polls and results.

"People will call films what they want to. They were hurt when I made 'Raajneeti'. What propaganda will happen in 'The Accidental Prime Minister'? All this propaganda will not affect the outcome of the elections," said the director during a recent press interaction event.

Jha further went on to say," You can put your heart and soul to do things, but it won't matter. All values and connotations change when it's election time. Why do people vote and don't, it all means something different in this country,"

The Gangaajal director feels that people will watch films only if the content interests them and entertains them. Jha was quoted saying," A set of devoted audience members might go and watch the film but the masses will pay for the tickets if the film talks about entertainment. If 'Uri' and 'The Accidental Prime Minister' are entertaining people, they are standing individually as films in their own capacity and are being accepted. So why not?"

While The Accidental Prime Minister was a documented account of the term of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh written by his media advisor Sanjay Baru; there are biopic's announced on the life of current Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Vivek Oberoi and veteran actor Paresh Rawal as well.

Taking about this trend Jha says that this genre is "an interesting subject and people are trying to make an interesting film on it".

The director has last directed Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘Jai Gangaajal' in 2016 said he recently completed the shooting for his next directorial. He further revealed," I have just completed the shooting of a film, which revolves around the education sector in the country. Another film of mine is going on floors next month."

Prakash Jhan was promoting his next production; Fraud Saiyyan, a comedy starring Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles is all set to hit the theaters on the 18th January.
