The entire nation lost a gem when legendary actor Shashi Kapoor passed away recently. Almost all the B-Town stars had come to pay their last respects to the iconic actor. But looks like fans from across the border are paying their tribute to Shashi Kapoor.

Residents of the city of Peshawar in Pakistan, paid tribute to the actor as a crowd of locals gathered and lit candles outside the actor's ancestral home, Kapoor Haveli, which is located in the Kissa Khwani Bazaar area of the old city.

The Kapoor Haveli was built by Shashi Kapoor's grandfather Dewan Basheswarnath Kapoor in 1918 and it is here that Raj Kapoor was born. Shashi Kapoor's father Prithviraj Kapoor is said to have moved to Mumbai in 1928 and the entire Kapoor family reportedly left the Kapoor Haveli and Peshawar during the Partition in 1947. However, due to negligence in maintenance, the entire structure is crumbling and is also affected by the frequent earthquakes in the region.

Recently Rishi Kapoor had tweeted a pic of him and Randhir Kapoor visiting the Haveli and captioned it, "Somebody sent this. Picture showing Randhir and me outside the Kapoor Haveli, Peshawar.Warmly greeted as seen in pic." Check out the tweet right here :
