John Abraham; is an actor who has grown by leaps and bounds in his filmography, and is one of the most bankable actors of the industry today! John; who has his unique set of films like Parmanu, Vicky Donor, Satyagraha, however, has one thing in common with some industry folks....his lack of attraction towards awards and award shows!

During a recent media interaction; the actor was asked as to why is he never seen attending awards shows, to which the actor very matter-of-factly said," I don't respect awards at all. How do you have an award called the best social media award star? I don't know which awards it was, but I have zero respect for awards. I disrespect awards, and that is why they don't even ask me for the nominations. Barring the National Awards may be, I totally disrespect the awards. You will all know it also, it's a laughing stock."

He further revealed," Still we (stars) go for it, still we have pan masala brands endorsing the award functions. Imagine where is our credibility has gone today, we (celebs) are standing in front of pan masala banners and endorsing them. That's a lifestyle choice; if you are choosing to dance at the weddings then definitely you can do this also."

Speaking about his choice of films and his private personality; the producer-actor, in an interview was quoted saying," I wanted to create a space for myself and I wanted to live in that space. If you are concerned about a certain culture, then you land up in every party or a camp. I am not a follower. I don't know how to do that. I don't know how to follow people or belong to a camp. I don't understand that culture. It doesn't exist in my head."

He further said he does not like knocking doors for work. "This is why I do my kinds of films. I don't go to any director and beg for films. Because I believe I can create my own content. I am not saying my content is best in the world but at least today when anyone goes to watch a JA Entertainment film, they believe there's something different about it. I am not saying that I try to do a Rs 100-crore film or a Rs 200-crore film, I just want to create a different story that you could possibly enjoy. That's why I keep myself private."

The Jism actor added," When I did Madras Cafe, it was because I was very impacted by Rajiv Gandhi's death. I did Parmanu because it was a story that stayed with me for the longest period of time and I felt how do the youngsters in India do not know what happened in Pokhran. When I am doing RAW, it's another side of our defence forces that I want to show to everyone out here, and if I do a Batla House, it's a very sensitive space."

"Batla House is perhaps the most contentious subject in India after Babri Masjid. So, I am actually attempting something where I know the probability of failure is high, but the probability of success is even higher,
" concluded John.

Directed by Robbie Grewal; RAW (Romeo Akbar Walter) has in the backdrop the 1971 India-Pakistan war which had marked the first time India used its air power against Pakistan. The film also features Mouni Roy and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. The film is set to hit the theatres on the 5th of April 2019.
