Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor starrer Mubarkan was supposed to be laughter riot as it was from the director Anees Bazmee who has given us films like No Entry and Welcome. But sadly, the film's first-day collection are not showing anything like that.

The movie was released in 2300 screens and it managed to earn slightly better than Indu Sarkar which was released in just 283 screens. Mubarkan managed to collect just Rs 7 crores at the box office with 20 to 25% occupancy.

Even after having Anil and Arjun Kapoor and pretty faces like Ileana and Athiya, the movie is getting mixed reviews from the audience and from the critics as well. Even the music of the movie has been a chartbuster with songs like Hawa Hawa, The Goggle Song, Jatt Jaguar and Mubarkan title track.

Mubarkan is a typical Anees Bazmee movie with a typical and predictable storyline which has all the trademark Anees Bazmee elements like loud background noise, slow-mo hero walks to peppy tunes and unnecessary solid base. The movie starts off with the twins Karan and Charan (Arjun Kapoor playing a double role) being separated at birth due to the accident of their parents. Charan and Karan get their love life entangled with each other, where Karan who loves Sweety who is getting engaged to Charan and Charan loves Binki who is supposed to marry Karan. Then there is Nafeesa as well.

May be the confusion that you are feeling this time is the same which has disinterested the audience. We will have to wait to see if these collections will grow over the weekend or not.
