The controversy surrounding Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi seems to be only growing after every passing day.

First, it was actor Sonu Sood who walked out of the film and cited Kangana as the reason for his decision. The film's first director Krish too; had recently voiced his criticism against the Fashion actress for modifying all of his work in the film and comparing his version of the film to a ‘Bhojpuri movie'.

And now; in the latest turn of events, it is actor Mishti Chakraborty, who plays the part of Kahsibhai in the film, who has slammed Kangana for cutting her role down to almost a negligible part.

In a recent interview, Mishti revealed how the final product did not meet her expectations. The actress was quoted saying," This was not what I was expecting. This was not what we shot for. This was not what I was promised. So, if you are talking on a personal level about my thing then I can't really say am happy about it."

Further lashing out; the actress said," I was literally shocked. This was not what we shot for. This was not what I was expecting. I am an actor and I just don't want my face to be seen. That there are a few nice close-ups and that's it. I want my work to be talked about, not my clothes and shoes."

Mishti further revealed," When I was initially offered the role of Kashibai by Kamal Jain (producer of Manikarnika), I said no to it. I was very hesitant because I wasn't really interested in doing a secondary character in a big film. Jain convinced me that it is a fantastic character and it has got a lot to perform."

Mishti revealed the only reason why she choose the film was because she was very keen on working with the first director; Krish.

The actress further said; to glorify yourself you don't need to put other down. Elaborating on the same; Mishti said," To glorify yourself, you don't need to put others down. If you are great, you will stand out in the crowd. If you don't have the confidence, you will want it all for yourself. That is how I look at it, I am not judging anyone over here. I am not talking about Kangana or Vidya. But then I have seen Vidya Balan. There may be 10 women around her but she still stands out in the crowd. She never tried to chop off anybody's character. She didn't need to."

Produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain and Nishant Pitti, the film released on the 25th of January and features veteran actors like Danny Denzongpa, Atul Kulkarni and Suresh Oberoi in pivotal roles apart from marking the Bollywood debut of popular TV actor Ankita Lokhande.
