Kangana Ranaut on #MeToo: Have been harassed on film sets

One actor of the Bollywood industry who does not mince her words for sure and is known for her bold and controversial statements is certainly the Queen actress Kangana Ranaut. And now the actress has revealed how she was harassed on the sets of her films and has dealt with toxin behaviors of ample people in her career spanning over a decade.

One actor of the Bollywood industry who does not mince her words for sure and is known for her bold and controversial statements is certainly the Queen actress Kangana Ranaut


Right from her claims of Nepotism to her feuds with Karan Johar and her ugly affair with Hrithik Roshan; the actress has never shied from speak the truth and sharing her opinion. While the actress is relentlessly promoting her next release Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi'; she has touched upon the #MeToo movement again. 


Kangana; who has expressed her opinion about the movement and the changes that have happened because of it, spoke about the same during a recent media interaction. And now the actress has revealed how she was harassed on the sets of her films and has dealt with toxin behaviors of ample people in her career spanning over a decade. 


The ‘Simran' actor was quoted saying to PTI," Harassment happens on many levels. So many times on sets, I wasn't sexually harassed, but some people had ego issues. I was harassed on many other fronts. It wouldn't come under #MeToo but it was still harassment."


She further went on to reveal," Making me wait on set for six hours, willingly giving me wrong call time to make me stand, always giving me the wrong set of dates so I'm missing out on opportunities and then canceling the schedule last minute by these heroes."


And that is not it; Kangana further revealed how the industry has ganged up against her time and again and left her all by herself. Elaborating on the topic further; Kangana said," Ganging up on me and not inviting me to film events, launching trailers without me and then someone else dubbed for me without even telling me, which is violating the basic right of taking permission from an actor."


Kangana is gearing up for her next release which is a period drama and revolves around the real life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi and her battle against the East India Company for her country India. 

The film titled Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi; is all set to release on the 25th of January and will also be Kangana's debut as a director. The film features veteran actors like Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi and Danny Denzongpa in pivotal roles apart from being popular TV actress Ankita Lokhande's Bollywood debut.
