After a break of six years, Sanjay Gupta is now back with a new movie in his preferred genre, a gangster-action movie titled Mumbai Saga. The movie will also star some big stars such as John Abraham, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Samir Soni, Amole Gupte and Pratiek Babbar. The filming of the film just began as of yesterday and even John was a part of this schedule.

New reports claim that director Sanjay Gupta has now also roped in a star actress Kajal Aggarwal, to play the lead role opposite John Abraham. This film will also be Kajal's comeback in Bollywood after a brief gap. Talking about Kajal, Sanjay said, "The most important thing is that my gangster films often also have strong female characters. This character starts off as John's girlfriend, then becomes his wife. So, I needed an actress who plays a 17-year-old college girl, a young wife and then, a strong woman in her 30s. I'm an admirer of Kajal's work, she looks lovely and has a great screen presence. I'm glad we're collaborating on this film."

Kajal was last seen in Deepak Tijori's Do Lafzo Ki Kahani, which also featured Randeep Hooda. She was seen playing the role of a blind girl. Kajal was also praised for her work in this movie. But since then she hasn't made an appearance in any Bollywood film but continued to work in South films.

Mumbai Saga will tell the story of gangsters in the late 80s and how the rice mills were shut down to the rise of malls in the city. Sanjay before the shoot of the film tweeted about his excitement, "It's 5.30 in the morning and I'm having my cup of tea. In less than two hours I'll be taking my first shot. I'm excited, anxious, nervous... a bit of all actually as I embark on this very ambitious and adventurous journey called Mumbai Saga." Mumbai Saga will hit theatres on June 2020.
