John Abraham who gearing up for the release of Batla House on the occasion of Independence Day and was totally not affected about the fact that even Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal was to be released on the same day, may have to postpone the release of his film.

Ariz Khan and Shehzad Ahmad, who was accused in the Batla House encounter case, have filed for a plea with the Delhi High Court seeking a stay on the movie release and the plea is reported to be heard next week. The accused have asked for screening before the movie's release on Independence Day in order to verify if the movie Batla House is actually based on facts and also whether it follows the sequence in which the incident took place.

The plea states, "Although the courts discharge their duties in a free and fair manner and are not likely to be affected by events portrayed in a movie... The release of such a movie would prejudice the trial, especially as there has been an effort to connect the two incident i.e. Batla House and the Delhi serial blasts."

Batla House is produced by John Abraham and is helmed by Nikkhil Advani. The film is about the alleged police encounter that took place in Delhi after the serial blasts of 2008. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur as the lead actress.
